My daughter is married and has medical insurance with high deductible and now she requires to undergo some expensive medical tests.
She already has medical insurance through her husband’s work and the deductible amount is $10k. The tests would costs around that figure and they cannot afford this or the payments. Do they have any other option left? Would supplemental insurance help here? Any thought?

There is no solution other than money. When persons are covered under insurance plans with high deductibles, they are expected to put money into reserve to cover the deductible. That's a personal responsibility issue. There is no "supplemental" insurance to cover this situation, and even if there were, it would be too late to obtain it.
The only "solution" -- and it might not even be one -- would be to wait until after 1-1-2014, when certain diagnostics might be less costly under the regulations governing the PPACA. If the employer-sponsored plan is "grandfathered", things might not be any different than they are today.
