Can my health provider deny patient covered by insurance?

Our health provider has stopped looking after patients covered by health insurance. Now they are only caring patients covered by Medicaid. Is this legal? My son was put in a court ordered program for substance abuse. Now they have informed us that they no longer work with patients with insurance. Rather, now they entertain only Medicaid patients. I am sure that I would never qualify for Medicaid.

Until the government makes slaves of doctors, the doctors are free to treat or not treat anyone they choose. I recently heard about a doctor that refused to accept a cash-paying patient. Go figure. Guess he knows the money is worthless.
