I am a new DOD employee in Hawaii, I'm 42 and want to purchase health insurance solely for the purpose of IVF, any suggestions?
This is all so confusing to me. What research I have done shows that no insurance that the department of defense offers covers IVF then again I could be totally wrong because I'm clueless to what half of the websites are talking about.
Thank you

There is nothing confusing about it at all. If you want it, plan on paying for this yourself. Fertility procedures are not covered expenses in any health insurance plan. Why not? The cost exceeds $10,000 per attempt, and Obamacare limits a person's own out-of-pocket medical expenses to no more than $6350 in 2014.
On top of that, at age 42, any pregnancy of yours (even natural) would be classified "High Risk." At your age, IVF is even riskier.

You need to directly talk to that insurance company agent. There is not much confusing things, but if you are worried about it, then you may also research on the internet about it.
