Recently I lost my 100% health care coverage plan - thus a qualifying event. And thus I now have an option of receiving health care coverage through my employer. However, can I also now participate in the AFLAC plans they offer? And if so, can I do so through pre-tax contribution withholdings?

You may be entitled to enroll in the various AFLAC plans offered, but because they are intended to be non-taxable supplemental benefits, you cannot pay for them with pretax income. Premiums will be withheld from your after-tax pay.Add your comment
