I have doubts that my insurer would repair my older model car with quality body parts. I had a wreck few days back and I wanna ensure that it gets quality parts. What steps do I take to ensure it ??
thanks, Cameron Kupke.

I'm sure that you've heard of aftermarket crash parts which are associated to replacements parts for motor vehicles which are made up of non-mechanical sheet metals. These can certainly help towards replacing some damaged parts like doora, hoods or say trunk lids.

In some places the state law requires that an insurer has to make aware of the vehicle owner in writing, in case there is any inclusion of after market crash parts while estimating repairs for a damaged vehicle. I'm sure this information is gonna help you pursue your claim.

Thanks,
Rachael

Hey dear, always make sure that you ask for an itemized estimated list for your repairs. It sh'd clearly mention all the items that are to be replaced with aftermarket crash parts. You sh'd also consult with your manufacturer, make sure that the after market parts have the name of the manufacturer in a logo. If his name is not a known one...you may as well reject it ! got it ?
take care, Fatman

Hi there! I'd jus like to add a couple of more points towards this one... you sh'd also enquire abt the timeline. Believe me you still have the scope to negotiate for a new part incase you think that a change might contribute towards a better repair. I'm saying this keeping in mind that you probably have a late model as you've said. Also make sure that your insurer abides by all the laws governing vehicles. Sasha T.

the best option for you is to get the car repaired in front of you....
atleast you can check the quality of the body parts that are been changed and so there should be no doubt of the quality of the spare parts used....
