hi friends,
I just dropped by and thought about having one query solved. Not many days ago my gilr friend's car was hit by a limo driver. The person had tried to settele the issue with her by offering an amt. which she rightly refused and instead informed the police.
The case was strengthened on her part once the police also reported that the limo driver was at fault. Thus, she sent a copy of the police report to the three parties; the limo driver, his company and the driver's insurer along with the repair estimates. She did it all via mail.
"We are not responsible," says the limo co. now. They say that the person isnt on their staff list. My girl friend only got a reciept from the driver's insurer, though they are not bothering to reply to her in any way.
What do we do, guys?
Regards

Hi,
Lemme make it very clear, irrespective of whether or not the driver is on the staff list of the limo company, if the company owns the car and has it insured, then its their duty to take care of ur girlfriend's car's damages and injuries, if any. I hope that she was not injured in the accident.
BTW, u have not mentioned if u took help from ur State DOI or not. If not, then I would suggest u do it right away.
Take care,
Fatman

Also it would not hurt to report it to your insurance company in the mean time if you need to have it fixed they will usually help you out and then the insurance company will go after the responsible party..

hi guest,
Since you have not mentioned your state, its difficult for me to forward the State DOI's address.
Anyways, do check out the Statewise Auto Insurance Information Page to refer to the address. You wll find the statewise auto laws for each of the states there.
Thanks,
Evan
