Statement changed from police report

I was backed into in a parking lot when I car pulled into a spot and I proceeded past (this is a 2 lane parking lot), the other driver then proceeded to back up to get in another spot across the lanes and hit me in the rear behind my door. Since this was private property, no tickets were issued and statements from both of us were taken. Upon receiving the report both statements matched. Stating what I said above and the other driver said that they pulled into spot and proceeded to back into another spot and hit my car. I have contacted their insurance and they have came and looked at my car. I called and they now say that the other driver is now changing their statement and have 2 witnesses who were in the car at the time. These statements were written by us both and translated on the accident report. My question is they want me to fill out another accident form stating what happened and fax it back to them and then they would investigate. What should I do?

Already been too long, have you contacted your states Dept of Ins? If not it's time to file a complaint...I'd call them ask where they are in the investigation, and advise them you are giving them 48 hours to let you know something..then filing a complaint...ins companies do not like these complaints, and they are very very strict in the responses required....

what other thread?

Hey thanks, the other tread is the one on how long the insurance has to pay. I called them today after talking to State Insurance Dept. how has said that they have 60 days to either accept or deny coverage. They told me that they know of no such law and they are waiting for their underwriting department to determine the other people premium if the child who was driving had been in car. I am not sure what the price of their premium has to do with them settling the claim. I have filed a complaint with the insurance comm. per their request they say that the insurance co. I am dealing with is the worst about this sort of thing.

THAT IS FUNNY

They told me that they know of no such law

they don't know the laws of bad faith in the state they operate? (no third party bad faith but the rule you sited applies to both)...mercy....

I am not sure what the price of their premium has to do with them settling the claim

I'm not sure either unless they need to collect back prem. in order to provide coverage....

glad you filed the complaint, let us know how this progresses please.
