Hello to all,
Please help me. My brother is insured under my policy and was driving my truck. Last Thurs - he drove over a bush/tumblewwed type thing and the truck started to skate (it had rained) and he braked...next hting you know he was off the road againt the median.
The axle is damged, both passenger side rims and some damage to truck bed passenger side.
AAA to truck towed him home - no police report or eye witnesses.
Should I have any worries regarding the insurance claim - I think it's a comp.(?) claim...

Comprehensive! I guess not, it should come under the collision coverage. Lets see what the experts have to say on this matter.

Well, this may not hinder the claim process, if you have other documents to support your claim. Hope, you have the photos of your vehicle before and after the accident, if so go ahead and file the claim with your insurer.
A police report and statements of the eye witnesses would have strengthen your position, but absence of those may not thwart the process anyway. If it happens, let us know, we may then take up the issue from there on.

Just wondering, have you registered the accident with the State DMV. You normally have 10 days to report the event. If you have done that, the document can come handy at the time of need.
Evaluate the extent of the damages, if it's worth more than $750, register the accident with the DMV.

Good morning OP and welcome to the community...
First of all sounds like a collision rather than comp claim to me...not sure however how this tumbleweed figures into the equation...he lost control of the vehicle more than likely due to the wet roads and not the tumbleweed anyway though right? Collision, not comp..
As far a towing the vehicle home and all that, should be no problem here at all and won't necessarily need any witness or police report you're not claiming someone ran him of the road, just a single vehicle accident, where the driver lost control..
Might be a question though why have you not reported it already? If I am understanding your post correctly this occured over a week ago? Or day be yesterday? If over a week then again I ask (and so will your company) why have you not already reported this claim? Your policy will have wording similar to, ''you must promptly report all accident''...

To answer your question (yes, i know finally), no you shouldn't expect any worries...unless of course you are convinced this is a comp claim (and I'm not--sorry)...Please let us know how this turns out and if there is anything we can do to assist you thru the claims process....
and
TURN THAT CLAIM IN RIGHT NOW!!!
