I'm hoping that 'scheme' has a different meaning in india than it does in the states...OP we have a few that post here regularly that are from india hopefully one will pop in on this thread...just an fyi, 'scheme' means something illegal, and definately immoral in the US

you are right scheme does have a different meaning in India. Both in positive as well as negative way.but positive meaning of scheme is more popular.

hi manish,

anywhere in the world (especially in India) all the health insurance does not cost you a much.

If you are a family then i will suggest you to go for a floater plan (oh sorry!! scheme in your language!! ha! ha! just kidding) which is available from any of four govt insurance companies and also private insurance companies does offer this floater benefit.

It hardly cost 7-8 k /annum for whole family to get necessary health insurance. so i think your surplus amount can be invested in more savings scheme which are associated with life insurance but not health insurance.

Largest insurer in India LIC has come up with one health insurance plan which is a combination of health insurance plus savings plus stock related investment.

But due to its complex nature its not really very popular. i won't suggest any single company to you but you need to first analyze the need first and then you can go for company to choose.

Hi, manish,

Do you mind to tell whether your 50k per month is in india ruppees or USD? I am asking these due to i am thinking if you are earning that much income, you may try some policy(or scheme, in your meaning) that have multiple plan.

In my country i bought a health insurance with investment plan, which means half of my premium that i pay monthly will be act as the investment fund for the insureance company as well. The good things about this plan is on the mature date of the policy plan, they will pay back all the premium that you paid all this year with profit. You are getting health insurance and medical benefits free with the investment too. You can try great eastern and Prudential insurance who having this plan now.

Sorry to poke in between but its 50 k Indian rupees which comes to 1000-1050 USD per month.

Only big big industrialists here earn 50000 USD per month which comes to 25 lacs Indian Rupees per month.

Even our president do not have that much big pay check per month.

Manish sorry again for just being so straightforward.....
