Just want to get reimbursement for my damaged boat

My boat has been damaged after it caught fire and was brought for evaluation. My question is that- can the carrier instruct a boat dealer to pull the engine and the interior of the boat? Because a further damage will result in more loss while selling.
Thanks in advance.

Generally an insurer cannot instruct. Unless and until the policyholder decides to give up knowingly or unknowingly the ownership of the property, it will remain the policyholder's property. And insurance companies have the right to repair after giving the policyholder a proper notice.
The company can take up any part of the property at the agreed appraised value. As it is your claim, there is some difficulty to take any part which is outside the claim for the company.
