The state of Connecticut has come out with a health insurance plan designed to reduce the number of uninsured people.
It has some pluses and minuses.
The program is affordable and has decent coverage unless you have a serious illness. This is because the annual caps and the lifetime caps are limited. The private health insurance companies I work with have better caps.
It accepts people who have pre-existing conditions.
There appears to only be one hospital that accepts the plan. Even in a small state like Connecticut, that seems to be pretty inadequate. Only Saint Raphael's in New Haven stepped up to the table.
I put more information on my blog. I'm looking for more information and opinions on this topic, so feel free to post below or to comment on my blog.
