I have a truck that someone staying over for about 3 weeks drove without my permission. The keys were in my own room. Obviously that person took the keys when I wasn't around and drove the vehicle...I received a phone call telling me the truck was in an accident. i rushed to the scene and saw the truck, police and person staying over. i was worried about his well being...took him home and tried to find out how it all happened. It was very late at nite...so I decided to have a talk with him next day after work. The guy was really shook up but not harmed. According to him the accident happened this way: he was in the intersection waiting to make a left, the light was changing. The cars coming in his direccion stopped; so he started turning. There was a car that was coming who apparently decided to run the light. So as he was turning he hit the other car coming. I tried to create a police report but I was told at police station that the report was already made at the scene...
Next day I tried to talk to the guy but when I when into the room he was staying at, all his stuff was gone....he had just vanished.
I received a letter in the mail today from my insurance company telling me the following: "unfortunately, we are unable to provide coverage...for the loss....our investigation has revealed...your policy states 1. Insured person means any person with respect to an accident arising out of that person's use of a covered auto with the permission of you or a relative....after applying the facts known to us...we have concluded ...we are not able to afford coverage...for the loss..."
what this mean? what should I do next?

Sounds like your friend also ran a red light..The cars coming in his direccion stopped
This would indicate that his light also had turned red..what this mean?
It means based on your statement they have concluded that your friend stole your vehicle...and they will not provide coverage to the other party...what should I do next?
If you have comprehensive coverage your vehicle damage would be covered under this coverage. If you get a demand from the other party's coverage you need to forward it on to your carrier, for their denial to that party.Posted: Mon Sep 07, 2009 09:48 am Post Subject:
We know that there are a lot of car insurance options; However we should know what we most likely will need is the main point to make sure we are appropriately covered.
Do you want coverage for a rental car if your car is damaged? Do you want an extended warranty to pay for parts and labor if your car breaks down? If your car is leased, you will probably need gap insurance which pays for the difference between what your insurer pays and what you owe on your lease if the car is completely totaled.
They denied your claim, you can check your policy again. I checked detailed policy and disscuss with the agent before i sign the agreement. And when something wring happened i can negotiate with my agent.

This wouldn't fall under any auto policy, David,If your car is leased, you will probably need gap insurance which pays for the difference between what your insurer pays and what you owe on your lease if the car is completely totaled.
I think you meant to say if your have a note/loan or lein on your vehicle..And when something wring happened i can negotiate with my agent.
David when a loss occurs there is no negotiation about coverage..You either have it or you don't.Add your comment
