I'm an employment program assistant with experience worth 2 years. I'm looking forward to get involved in some kind of disability insurance claims examination process. Would I be eligible for the position of Disability insurance program rep? I'd like to know more about the qualification and nature of such jobs.

If you've worked as an EPA for about an year with the Employment development dept. you'd fulfill the criteria. Apart from this you'd need to have knowledge on the labor market, different economic trends as well as different business trends.

You'd need to deduce medical data and calculate the period of disability. You may even need to conduct interviews and analyze facts in order to take sound decisions.

Yes, you'd need to communicate in an effective manner and handle automated data systems. Your decisions have to be quick and flawless based on a careful analysis of the different situations that you'd come across.

You may also qualify if you have been involved in any public contact service for 2 years. Once you'd complete your 60 college semester units you'd be eligible for it.
