Is it true that we have disability insurance aimed at covering the vets who're disabled while in service? Please help me with an overview.

There is "CATASTROPHIC" coverage added to Servicemember's Group Life Insurance for those battlefield injuries that, 60-70 years ago were a death sentence, but today can sometimes be treated and allow a young man or woman to life another 20-30 years or more as a wheelchair bound veteran.

I salute those who have given so much . . . only to discover that our government has no plan to deal with them. They are more than just casualties of war, they are persons whom Congress and the Dept of Defense pretend do not exist.

No, unless that person has obtained a personal disability policy that does not have the typical exclusion for military service (and I don't know of any), there is no government disability insurance plan for them specifically. They MIGHT qualify for Social Security Disability, but even that is a craps shoot.
