I am currently working but my health is not keeping up with it currently. It is becoming very difficult for me to continue work and I think I am becoming more disabled every passing day. I need to know that do I have to quit my job to get the disability income benefit start? I'm almost 53 and have been working all my life. Will my disability get approved because I just can't go on working? If I quit can I collect unemployment until I get disability, if it is approved? Please help as I am not sure much longer I can work. Even if I am able to, most probably it would be some kind of a part time job.

It may not be possible but it depends on your particular situation.
Keep in mind that to get unemployment benefits, you should be able to work and actively seeking employment. Thus, getting unemployment benefits may be contradictory, when you are forced to quite your job because you are getting disabled.
I think you may be more eligible to get disability benefits depending on your medical reports.
An expert would be able to address this situation in a better way.
