I had been into the store for 10 or 15 minutes. When I came back, I saw my parked car has been hit in the front and with no-one in sight. I don't even have UM/UIM coverage. Please help. Should I ask for the surveillance tapes?

I'm not sure if you should ask for video... that is up to you. I don't see how that is related to insurance. Let me ask... could it hurt you to ask?

You'd need to have collision coverage to address the damage to your vehicle is you think something, like a car, hit it (and you don't have UMPD).

As tcope has stated, the collision coverage ( if you have it) will pay for the property damage to your vehicle. You'll need to pay the deductible amount by yourself though.

As for the surveillance tapes and witnesses, you need them to identify the at-fault party, if you want to make them pay ( of course you would).
