I am disabled and on SSD, and staying here in Florida since 2005. My insurance went up to $90 each month. My health conditions are good and don't smoke. I need an insurance within my affordability. I really can't afford $90 a month. Could anybody help me?

If you have been on Social Security Disability for more than 24 consecutive months, you will be enrolled in Medicare Part A, and will have to pay a premium ($104.90 in 2013) for Medicare Part B. If your income is sufficiently low, you may be eligible for Medicaid and can have your Part B premium paid for in whole or in part. If eligible for Medicaid, you may enroll in a Medicare Advantage "Special Needs Plan" which will greatly limit your out-of-pocket expenses and may provide additional health care benefits not provided by Medicare. Contact your local county Social Service Agency for details.
