Windstorm Mitigation Inspection Service

by RFA Architect » Sun Apr 08, 2007 09:39 pm

Let me preface this by stating i apologize if i have this in the wrong forum section. This is not intended as an advertisement but rather a post for opinion.

I am a registered architect in the state of Florida. I have recently started performing Wind Mitigation Inspections as an additional service. State regulation allows architects along with a few other disciplines to verify existing wind mitigation elements on structures.

Most homes have existing structural and construction features that qualify a homeowner for insurance discounts on windstorm policies. I perform an inspection and fill out the appropriate forms for a fee. I guarantee no inspection cost if they do not receive a credit.

I am in the process of marketing this service. I have some preconceived notions on how to go about this, but am looking for opinions from another point of view. Any comments are appreciated. I am attaching a postcard, although it does not appear to read well in this post.

Thanks.
