I want to pursue a career of INSURANCE ADVISOR. Is there any Leading Insurance Company in INDIA, who were paying their AGENTS/ADVISORS, a monthly fixed salary/remuneration apart from commission?

Good question Lori, I am not sure if they are the same as here or not. We run into the similar type questions on the other forums and don't know how to answer on debt, credit or mortgage in another country. Had to answer, hard to know how they view things.

In most of the players in India either pay you a fixed amount or as an agent. As an agent sky is the limit for your earning depending on your potential. Choose.

thanks easymillions, thought so but wasn't for sure....re: op original question...of course I cannot speak directly to India, but do know that many companies that have captive agents in the US will provide a base salary for a period of time, until your commission and base equal one another and then switch to pure commission. This is of course only for a period of time say a year maybe. I was offered an agency when the company I worked for closed their claims office, they offered me the opportunity to switch from adjuster to agent. And the deal was they would pay me 'x' amount of money for 12 months (or less if I wanted but no more) until my book of business reached or exceeded that salary....(clearly i declined the offer).....

This reminds me of an experience I had back in 4/2000.
A man from the Sichuan University, Chengdu, Sichuan, People's Republic of China was majoring in Insurance Theory / probabilities and had uncovered what he called a "bees hive of insurance fraud and deceit."

Over the course of several letters, he asked if I would consider coming to Beijing to help him investigate the People's Insurance Company for fraud. Yes, I actually thought very seriously about it for a few days. I could charge the Chinese lawyers a huge amount of money to teach them how to investigate insurance fraud, take out a large term life policy so that if I disappeared in a communist country my family wouldn't suffer tremendously and - if, God willing, I was successful, I could help change the lives of literally countless number of people.

Anyway, being a student of common sense, I decided I'd be better off staying here in our glorious country and making a career out of busting the common insurance thief. My wife liked that idea as well.

Sometimes I just wonder how it would have turned out.
