Hi!

Here are some information, i have collected on the commonly spread health diseases in our homes.

I just want to know,

1. how much we are spending on these common diseases, per person ?
2. is there a health insurance policy that can help us to counter these common diseases?
3. are the therapies more expensive than that of that health insurance policy, if any?
4. to what extent can that health insurance policy help us to counter such diseases?

Finally can you suggest me the best way to overcome such unwanted diseases? Can we avoid them? How?

I know, i am here with loads of questions but i would really be happy if you help me with some genuine solutions... :D

Hi,

I'm residing in the US for the last 1 year & 8 months. I've been employed with Infosys, one of the outsourcing partners of the ABN AMRO in Chicago. For the last 2 months I was under severe mental pressure as I got scanned a 100 times ever since I was diagnosed with the dreaded symptoms of Cancer. It is only a week that I'm relieved to know that it were just the similar symptoms that are being shared by a latent tuberculosis.

Believe me or not, for all these months AETNA has been one of my trusted friends upon who the whole of my confidence & my very existence were lying. For each of the tests worth $7,000-$8,000 (of which AETNA paid up almost the 90-95%), I found that I had to pay the deductibles worth $400-$500. Had they not been by my side in that hour of crisis I'd have long gone in terms of my escalating BP.
Thanks AETNA!!

Hi,

Finally can you suggest me the best way to overcome such unwanted diseases? Can we avoid them? How?

The best way we may go about it is through checking our BP at regular intervals & through obliterating bad habits like smoking & drinking too often! -Golferraghoo

Spiritual Healing!
That seems quite an interesting technique indeed!
Could anyone help me understand it in a better way?
Sil, I thank you so much for bringing up such interesting topics.

According to me health insurance does not counter diseases. It is the savings we make for the rainy season. An insurance for me is saving for any unforeseen health problem or something that can cover the highest paid health checkup. As a layman, I want my insurance company to pay for my medical expenses but I do need to be aware enough to avoid such diseases first.
Hi Sil,

The best way to overcome any disease is to know about it. Stay healthy and learn more about yourself. Regular medical checkups and hygiene can help you be healthy avoiding any common or grave disease.

Sil I got your pm re: expecting me to respond to your thread...I'm glad to oblige, but I don't generally add to a thread if I'm not well versed in the topic, so first of all, you need to understand Sil, I am not a health insurance professional AT ALL...I've always been a P&C adjuster...so my knowledge is limited...however your questions appear to be more of a health nature...

I just want to know,

1. how much we are spending on these common diseases, per person ?

No idea...a lot! I'm sure this information is on the web somewhere....

2. is there a health insurance policy that can help us to counter these common diseases?

No not to counter the diseases, just to pay for their diagnosis and treatments.

3. are the therapies more expensive than that of that health insurance policy, if any?

I don't understand this question.

4. to what extent can that health insurance policy help us to counter such diseases?

Non at all that I'm aware of.

Finally can you suggest me the best way to overcome such unwanted diseases?

Go to webmd or some such similar website there are a million websites about disease prevention, etc..

Can we avoid them? How?

same answer I have above applies to this as well....

Hope that helps...hey Sil are you doing a term paper by chance?

Hi Lori!

I knew that there are separate solutions to such diseases but i was not sure about a particular insurance that would help to counter such diseases. Thanks for your information.

In that case don't you ll think that these diseases being the most common ones, at least majority of them can be found in a house of 6 members? ....Can anybody tell me, then why aren't the insurance companies framing relevant and effective policies to counter such things?

Thanks for your suggestions..i shall surely try to delve further into the website....but can any body throw some more light to all my queries?

Lol :D it is not my term paper by any means......I am just contemplating on this health insurance issue.I want to find an effective solution to this tivial but grave issue...

Sil, I think maybe I'm not totally understanding what your actual question is...are you asking is there some sort of insurance that will help prevent a disease?

Can anybody tell me, then why aren't the insurance companies framing relevant and effective policies to counter such things?

I guess you could say that they do in a economical way to the consumer, for instance if you don't smoke you pay less premium on a life (health too maybe) policy than a smoker....Perhaps (i don't know this just wondering) the same might be true if you are grossly overweight are their premiums higher? Please clarify this for me Sil, cause I think I'm still not understanding what your actual question is...if (as I'm reading it) you want to know 'why' ins companys are not offering some kind of policy to those who take active measures to reduce their chances of suffering some of these ailments? Well, cause they aren't in the business of health care...which is what that would fall under I'd think.... :?

Hey carldoyluvr and Lady bug!

Firstly let me apologize for my late response... :(

As much as i know ...According to the philosophy of spiritual healing....

It is said ...that there is a strong connection between our mind and body...

So if your body is disturbed it can be cured by the treatment of your mind. :)

Normally, Music is considered to be the center of the entire treatment. They believe, music is the most effective means to deal with human emotions and sentiments. Different types of emotions deal with different types of sentiments.

So if there is a difficulty in walking for your grandma, Anida ....
a person who would carry out with the treatment would..First let your grandma....
Relax ...and relax, till her mind body and soul gets engrossed..
Then what happens? Let me site you an example where a patient shares her experience about the spiritual therapy...she rated how the doctor vanished her pain. :

he listened intently to me for half an hour and then put on a tape of soothing music.

'As I began to relax, David placed his hands about a centimetre above my shoulders. I felt as if he was putting his hands inside me and untwisting a tap.The pain just vanished - it went in an instant.

Well Lori!

My purpose is to know if there is an insurance coverage that covers all these common diseases together?

If there is a... health insurance coverage how much does that cost ?
