What things are not covered under a travel insurance?

hey pals,
I do travel a lot & keep on worrying about my belongings all the year round.
Before I apply for a travel insurance I'd like to know more about what is not covered (I presume all things covered are unmistakably highlighted in the membership materials). Could anyone get me a list of the things not covered?
Waiting for responses, Delamayfair

Hi,
Welcome to the forums!
Money & valuables that you carry along with you in your personal closet are not covered.
If you give any third the charge of any of your property then it is not covered under this insurance.
If you keep money or any other valuables at a vehicle & leave it unattended for a long time...then any theft arising out of that is not to be covered. Any property or equipmt that you've either hired or lent from a someone else would never come under this kinda coverage. I believe thats all I've to say.

Well, if you are somehow carrying fragile or brittle goods in a cargo they would only be covered if they are destroyed by a break-out of fire or an accident while in the course of the journey!
Again, when someone says-

If you keep money or any other valuables at a vehicle & leave it unattended for a long time..

Remember, that it would also include your luggage-in-transit!

hi!
..this type of coverage would only cover you in addition of what are being covered under your household insurance. Hence, you'll be reimbursed for the same only after reimbursement of the latter.

Why would travel in surance cover such things like illness and pregnancy. I feel you may have this confused because travel insurance is to cover items that you take along on your travels and not a disability insurance. That would eb a seperate insurance all together.
As for carrying money on your trip, if you invest in travelers checks you will find that they will provide you with coverage if your checks are stolen. They are also widely accepted anywhere.

I think, briefly Travel Insurance should cover following things.
Travel insurance covers a traveler's vacation cost against cancellation and interruption while also providing medical, lost or damaged property and travel delay coverage. Travelers are reimbursed if they have to cancel or interrupt their travel. They are also covered should the need arise for emergency medical treatment, medical evacuation and a number of other benefits.

Just like other insurance, travel insurance doesn't cover everything on your trop. For example if the flight suffers mechanical failure, in that case your travel insurance would not provide reimbursement.Because it's the responsibilty of airline to take care of your losses.
