First of all, let me be sure that I've got everything correctly. I think you had a fire policy on your mother's house and it was paid-up for an year. You've sold the house after 3 months and now you have 9 months of un-used coverage on it. That's the reason you'd like the carrier to give you back the premium money for those 9 months. Am I right?

See, I haven't heard of such a thing happening with any paid-up policy (if the policy doesn't have any specifications e.g. a money- back option).

Yes that is what happened . my mom is not well so she forgot she had the policy and they slipped and said something and I told them the house has been sold since March of 09 and they said well its paid up until the end of this month (jan) and now all the sudden it cancelled in January but they wont tell me when so even if it did cancell shouldnt she still get her money back for rhe months not used if we provide proof it was sold...... If not then I really need to find out the day it cancelled so I can prove I got the paper work faxed to them before that day that it cancelled i hope this all makes sense to you?
