Hi,
I was going through an article which states that the Obama administration is not in favor of adding wind damage protection with flood insurance. Is this true??

Wind damage is covered in most home owners policys. flood of course is not...I don't know anything about what the pres...said, but it doesn't make any sense to me to add the peril of wind, (unless it's wind driven water)...to a flood policy.

What I know- ..some serious allegations had been put against the insurance carriers for denying payouts following the Hurricane Katrina in august 2005. They were accused of forcing the claims to move onto National Flood Insurance program. The homeowners' problems were acknowledged by the law makers and as a result of it the wind-damage coverage was added to it.
