Your post is missing some important details, but I don't think you need a lawyer at all. Not yet, at least.

If what you report has occurred, you need to file a claim against her Errors & Omissions liability policy for any remaining unreimbursed losses you may still have. Just ask the agent for the name of her E&O carrier. If she refuses, then contact the State Farm corporate offices, they'll know.

If it comes down to hiring a lawyer, you'll need an experienced insurance bad faith specialist. Send me a PM and I'll provide you with the name of a firm you might contact.

Even so, your post begs the question, did you not even read your policy when it was issued to see what it does or does not cover? If there was a mistake made, you could have corrected it at that point and not be where you are today.

That's what I've been requesting all insurance applicants to do ever since I joined our community. Please take your time to go through the terms and conditions (all the exclusions), so that you know every bit of what it actually covers. If the exclusions-list seems small, make sure you read through all the conditions carefully, as some of the exclusions may appear scattered all over the paper.

Max is right, you need to be absolutely sure that you need a lawyer before you look for one. Otherwise you'd just end up paying 30-40% of what you achieve towards them.
