Murder? Fraud?

How's this?

Several years back, AmFam had an agent convention, for their top producers, in Daytona Beach (in the 90's). One of the agent's girlfriend drowned in the ocean at 2:00 AM in the morning. He had two(2) life insurance applications pending on her, totaling 2 million dollars.

When the death was investigated by the State of Florida, AmFam "stonewalled" them! They would NOT release any information about any life insurance, in-force or pending, on the deceased. Senior Management, yes I'm talking about the CEO and COO, instructed the American Family Life Insurance Company personnel, NOT to release any information to the State of Florida Insurance Department. Their position was "we are not licensed in the State of Florida, so they are NOT entitled to any information.

The case was labeled an accident by the State of Florida, since they had no information it else wise.

It so happens that this agent was promote,d a year or so later, to District Manager, in another State.

Funny how things work out. The agent, now District Manager, was investigated by the AmFam for fraudulent auto claims when he was an agent. He was discharged, FIRED!

Interesting, huh?

AmFam had an even for their agents. So I'm assuming that this agent was an AmFam employee. If he had a life policy on a girlfriend, who did he take the policy out with? I'm going to again assume something, as it's not mentioned, and think the policy was with AmFam. If correct, than AmFam would stand to pay out. So they would benefit if the State ruled it murder. Why would they not cooperate? Probably because they determined it would have been illegal to release the information without a court order. Otherwise I see no reason why they would not release the information... as it might save them a few million dollars.

Your post has no real details about it's subject.

Yeah, very interesting but it has nothing to do with your subject anyways.
