I stumbled upon a website that I thought I should share. The company is called Digitally Documented. The URL is http://www.digitallydocumented.com/
Apparantly they are servicing the Toronto ON Area but have plans to expand. They have a process which documents your valuables then posts them in a secure "Virtual Vault" for safe keeping. We have contacted them and are having an inventory done next week. I will post to let you know the outcome. I find it as a valuable tool to both homeowners and Insurance companies. One, it helps add proof to your claim and secondly, it protect insurnce from fraud. Go check it out!

hi Keiran,
Could you give me a vivid account of this "virtual vault" ?
Is it that they will get all the valuables enlisted beforehand and then later on help towards testifying!
thanks, Clara

Sorry for the delay in the reply. They send a representative to you home that documents your valuables with photo, video and written documentation. This info is uploaded to their secure servers. You age given a password for your account and you can upload, delete new photos to maintain your account. Should you ever experience a loss, you can give your insurance agent a read only access to view your information to expedite your insurance claim. The photos taken by digitally documented are watermarked to ensure authenticity. The company is new and officially launching in Jan 07.
There is a small article about them in the Canadian Underwriters Magazine.

The only growing departments in the industry seem to be the investigation departments. I read about Digitally Documented in the Canadian Underwriters Magazine. Let's hope they go public so we can buy the stock early.

I had them document my stuff. Very thorough. I was under insured by $65K. I can't imagine if we had a claim. I also subscribed to the Virtual Vault (one of their services) It nice to know that we have taken the necessary steps to ensure we maximize out claim and have coverage for what is rightfully ours.

Is digitallydocumented.com really reliable?

If you want a short answer... Yes.
My insurance company highly recommended them. I also heard from my insurance agent that the Insurance Bureau of Canada has also recommended them. It adds credibility to you claim is a third party (in this case, professional third party has completed your inventory.
I have not subscribed to their "Virtual Vault" but after some consideration we are going to, sooner than later.
