When a doctor releases someone from compensation to light duty and the company has not light duty available, is the company still responsible to pay the person? Will compensation continue to pay them until they are released to full duty?
Somebody has got to be responsible for this worker right? It is not his fault that he got hurt, he is on his way to recovery and is still an employee of the company. Where does one go from here? Bills are mounting up on this guy and he is getting worried. Should he talk to compensation or the company? This is a neighbor of mine who works for a small machine shop but they do some heavy duty work, there is no light duty at all there, they all work like mules.
any advice to give him would be appreciated.

I wonder if he was really ready to go back erb or did he feel that he would not have a job if he stayed off too long, did the doctor release him to full duty that quickly? That does not usually happen. Hope he don't mess himself up in the long run.
If you go back to work and are not fully recovered you can really screw yourself up, especially with a back injury or other moving joint injury. I don't think he made a wise move at all.
Hope all is well with him and I hope that he is not messing himself even more.

I am not sure August, the decision was up to him, he is there every day, so he looks okay with me. I have been putting in extra hours myself so I don't see much of anyone for the last week or so. Get home and relax and hope the phone don't ring. I live with in walking distance of my employer so it rings a lot. I don't mind, I just don't have time for much else. It is either feast or famine and I take the hours when they are there. A few weeks ago I was lucky to be getting 15 hours a week, now I am up over 30 hours a week. I need the money, so I am not complaining.

That is good right that you are getting more hours at work, you seem to enjoy your job.
You can rest when you dead right? LOL, just kidding.

I work in the same field as you erb, I have to say that you seem to be in a better working conditions, my job can get a little frustrating at times, love the residents but the management can really be trying sometimes.
