Poli-Tics

So I was going to vote for Obama for selfish business reasons because no doubt he will allow the Federal Estate Tax exemption to be set at $1 million dollars in 2011.

That virtually guarantees many, many, many more baby boomers will have a Federal Estate Tax problem which will cause my business interests to explode.

On the other hand, Sarah is the ONLY breath of fresh air.

McCain and Biden are entrenched Gubment establishment. They both lost touch years ago and Biden's ego is larger than Donald Trump's. However, Trump actually gets things done.

Obama is a lawyer. Anyone who knows lawyers knows they don't think right. Their mind is polluted with legal theory and legal fiction and the issue at hand isn't their main concern. They spend their time concentrating on the process more than the solutions to the problem.

Now Sarah is different in the sense that she's normal. I believe Sarah is the type of woman Helen Ready sang about in that old tune:

"I am woman hear me roar in numbers too big to ignore."

What did she say?...

What's the difference between a hockey mom and a pit bull?

Lipstick!

Well, believe it or not, in my always humble opinion, men love smart women with basketballs.

So now I think I'm going to set my selfish interests aside and vote for Sarah. After all Bush got to tap into Cheny's brains and Sarah is a better shot.

I'm not going to get into a political debate...frankly I HATE politic with a passion...but will take exception to one thing, since you have sterotyped the mind of lawyers, I feel that I need to point out atleast one thing that worry's me

Now Sarah is different in the sense that she's normal.

Sarah is NOT by any stretch of the imagination a normal woman, wife and mom....I'm sorry but I have a real issue with ANY mom that has this many kids at home not to mention an INFANT (period) but one with downs syndrome to boot! and a pregnant unwed 17 year old daughter, plus what two more that are like 8 and 13 at home!!!!

To me and my way of thinking she CLEARLY has her prioritys messed up...I don't care who you are what your asperations are, when you make the decision to bring these babys into the world you also make the decision that they come first....it is IMPOSSIBLE for her children to come first, on the campaign trail, and as VP....I think this woman has a priority issue, and if she will sacrifice the well being of her own kids for her career what else will she throw under the bus?

Don't tell me they have good care, I'm sure they do, but it is NOT their Mama...and there is NO subsititue for mom....I do hope that her poor husband atleast has sense enough to quit his job and be a stay at home dad, so these kids have someone close...........

I have an opinion just like you, and I would say the same thing in any career move that did this to kids..and no I wouldn't say the same thing if it was a man with the same kids....because they would still have their mother....another thing while I love her statement about the soccer mom and pit bull, it's just crazy to think she is your run of the mill 'soccer mom' pa-leeeeeze she's probably been to 'a' soccer game a year, maybe....

Lori, she's a hockey mom NOT a soccer mom.

BIG difference.

Soccer mommies don't want their little bundle of over protected joy to get hurt playing football so they opt for soccer.

Hockey moms teach their boyz how to become men and instinctively know their boyz are going to have to compete in the real world one day and mommy won't always be there with a Band-Aid when they get knocked down.

That being said....

Do you think Hillary is just beside herself with seething rage sticking pins in a voodoo doll of Sarah because Mrs. Palin is going to become the first woman VP of the USA and then the first woman President?

I say one term for John McAin't then a referendum on American women in 2012 between Sarah and Hillary!

Sarah OR Hillary for Prez 2012?

hockey/soccer big deal...i was a football mom, so what? my point was her hands on mothering and participation or not...by the way when my boy started playing football (third grade thru highschool...named city defender thank you very much), I never even missed a practice, till he was in high school, (at his request of course  ) and used to tell him, '''Get up, your mama hits you harder that that!" ....

Do you think Hillary is just beside herself with seething rage sticking pins in a voodoo doll of Sarah because Mrs. Palin is going to become the first woman VP of the USA and then the first woman President?

You can bet on it!....she probably beat the snot right out of poor ole bill...

Wow what a scary ballot that would be....think I might have to move to canda or mexico, some where... :) don't think we will live long enough to see two woman at the top of the ballots...

But it wouldn't be two women.

A 2012 election of Sarah vs Hillary would be a referendum on Women vs Womyn.

It's interesting to see how the womyn of this country have reacted to Sarah when she is exactly the type of woman they have been preaching all womyn can become since the 60s. The only problem is womyn only talk about it while real women actual go out and do it.

I'm still voting Obama. That will cause the best gridlock we'd have in this country for years. The less Washington interferes the better off we are.

And yes, poor Bill, he needs to just divorce Hillary and move on. He doesn't love her, want her or need her. AND she obviously couldn't care less about him.

May the hippies from the 60s who have polluted the American culture finally be laid to rest.

I have no idea what a womyn is...but will say that us chicks of the 70's got really messed up, with the left over effects of the sixtys....as a reformed super 'himenist' IMO we've totally screwed up about three generations... while I have no problem with a woman president, and believe in total equality (meaning IF you have the skill etc to do the job, shouldn't be any issue with sex, or income)....I do have issue's with woman that think they are men...although I must confess to being one of the throng for many years....I blame a large part of that on many she-men, and their message that you can have it all...and you can, if you maintain balance and keep your priority's in line...no kids left to raise....go for it....ok ready for your womyn definition.

ok ready for your womyn definition.

Well womyn are women or a woman who can't stand to have any reference to man or men in their broad definition of themselves.

For example, what I find amusing is that committed womyn often go by two names such as Hillary Rodam-Clinton. Now we know the purpose of the "Rodam" part. It's to demonstrate she's her own womyn.

I'm perfectly okay with Hillary Rodam-Clinton. She's showing respect for her Father first (Rodam) and her husband second (Clinton) although that's not the interpretation of modern day womyn.

Sarah Palin is the typical American woman. She also is faced with three of the most dreaded circumstances a parent can be faced with while at the same time being considered for vice-president of the United States of America.

#1) Her son is being deployed to Iraq and may very well end up coming home in a body bag. She is faced with the very real possibility she may have to bury one of her children. The worst nightmare of any parent.

#2) Her teenage daughter is pregnant. This is the 2nd worst nightmare a parent faces although having a baby is not the end of the world. It's not that big of a deal.

#3) Having a baby born with a disability is a circumstance only a strong family committed woman would do in our throw away society.

Mr. Obama's mother was 18 years old when she had him. Look at the fine example of a man, husband and father he has become. The womyn of the Hillary Rodam-Clinton 60s generation would have told both Mr. Obama's mother and Mrs. Palin to have an abortion.

Perhaps we can thank God that neither of those women paid any attention to those few misguided womyn who want to define all women by their own myopic views.

Okay now I'm back to voting for Palin-McCain!
Wow, you've come along baby!
This Bud's for you!

Oh just SHUT UP! That has to one of the stupidest things I've ever heard or read!!!

I will say I still have issues with ANY woMAN who puts career or herself before husband and kids....and would also like to ask Mrs. Sarah, ''How's that ONLY teaching abstence going for ya'?" It's certainly not the end of the world re: teen parents HOWEVER, for the baby to have a good start I doubt anyone would argue that it takes a lot of support from the parents (grandparents) to accomplish this, what does a 17 year old that sleeps till noon when allowed know about colic? and that's minor! ....I just think it impossible for her to truly 'be there' for her pregnant 17 year old, her new infant with downs syndrome, the 7 year old, and oh my what's worse than a 14 year old! Just have an issue with all of that...other than that I like her....but the whole ''Mama'' thing and parenting I have very very strong opinions on...and just can't imagine anyone arguing this cannot be in the best interest of any of her children, except perhaps the boy that just joined the military.

I wasn't calling you out or the definition Gary, just the absolute absurdity of it!

Lori, I didn't take your comments as "calling me out" I took them as a legitimate question regarding a term that perhaps you were unfamiliar with.

Now getting back to our Poli-Tic debate:

and would also like to ask Mrs. Sarah, ''How's that ONLY teaching abstinence going for ya'?"

Well, it doesn't work. But parents are in a sexual battle they can't win because their children are being sexualized at a very young age with the non-stop sexual advertizing.

Everything in our society is sold with sex and sensual imaging.

Parents of daughters in our culture have a very difficult decision to make. They can preach abstinence right up until the time the girl gets pregnant or they can proactively put their daughter on birth control knowing she's going to do it anyway and risk some "other" infection that may be worse than having a baby.

It's lose-lose for the parent.

And while the parent is preaching DON'T do it their children are inundated with sexual images constantly.

So, Sarah lost that battle. There's not much a parent can do once their daughter reaches the age of consent and you can't follow them around 24-7. Also there are girls out there who once they actually understand they can create a human being with their body they become commited to that thought and that becomes a misguided focus.

But if we want to elect someone who has actual first hand experience with teenage pregnancy, the worry of having a child sent off to war, the challenges of having a disabled child then Sarah is the woman!

Maybe she can show by example how girls in our society can become women.

But I'd make a lot more money over the next 8 years if I'd vote for Obama.
