The groundhog called Phil emerged from his burrow this morning in central Pennsylvania and saw his shadow, which according to legend signals there will be six more weeks of winter in the U.S.

That groundhog is very famous, they had him in about every paper online, suppose a lot of people buy into it. Has anyone ever gone to see him?

I always hated the movie groundhog day, always thought who would want to live that day over and over. Punxsutawney Pa is about 20 miles from my house and I won't go near the place around ground hog days, they celebrate for a whole week prior too. They have what they call gobblers knob. (http://www.punxsutawney.com/) People come from all over the world to see him.

They have the ground hog statues all through town, year round, they are really cool, you can see them on that link also.

You would not be very popular on feb 2, in Punxsy Pa, those people love old Punxsutawney Phil. My grandmother used to make that, I don't really remember what it was like though. I know the farmers have a hard time with them in their fields and you always see them hit along the road. I just avoid the town completely during that time, it gets too crazy for me.
