New Years Goals and Ambitions

With the New Year coming upon us, I choose to throught the resolution, because I never stick to them. So, I want to post my goals and ambitions for the year.

1. To become smarter on my finances, better budget my money and pay off some smaller bills so I can dedicate more money toward my long term bills. such as mortgage and car payment.

2. Save all my money from forums other writing sites for a six month period, first six months make an extra car payment, second six months save for christmas.

3. Set aside more time for myself, even if it means getting up earlier in the morning to have just a half an hour of "me" time, haven't figured out what to dedicate that time to yet, but it needs to be something to aleviate a little stress.

4. Still thinking on this one!

What are your goals for the New Year?

I know, I have to do this, the mornings are the worst for me, I am so used to having that smoke with my coffee.

The toughest for me was my morning drive to work. I always had a smoke on my morning drive to work. It does take willpower. And just think of the moeny you willsave in the long run.

good for you avengerki, I hope you continue to do well, I smoke, I have thought about quitting but I never have a stress free enough time to do it, in my family there is always something going on. My youngest boy is incarecerated again, when he is out I always have worry and stress. He turned 27 on life support, was with a girl that just left rehab and ended up with methodone in his drink, he had to be brought back three times. This time here, he was out, working and doing good and then got with a woman, all hell broke loose in a fight, long story, he gets out in June. He is my youngest, I am very close to him, I see him do good and then hang around the wrong crowd, with in a year, in trouble and back in on a probation violation. I hope this cycle ends soon, he is 28, I have read where they eventually age out, wish he would soon.

but I wish you luck with your goals to stay nicotine free.

OH MY GOSH!!! You and your son are in my prayers.......can't imagine (thankfully) the heartache a parent feels when they have 'this' type of trouble(s) with a child....i'm so sorry.

Your youngest sounds like a handful, I hope that he does grow out of this soon. I am a criminology major and yes you are right, supposedly they age out of the crime, but it does not sound as if he committing more crimes, just violating the terms of probation, this is common, usually takes these young men a few times to learn and unfortunately in your sons situation with his weakness for peer pressure and not being able to say no, he has ended up behind bars again.

I wish you all the luck in the world, he is old enough to make the right decisions, he will come around some day, just keep being mom and try to not get so stressed, you are probably more stressed out than he is. These young men have a remarkable stress tolerant levels and I am sure where he is there are young men just like him. He will be okay, so try to quit stressing out about it.

I always ask the felons that I work with "Are you done yet?" kind of an ice breaker, they always laugh and say yes, but there are some who end up back in jail and usually, 8 out of 10 times, there is a woman involved, lol. They just don't learn.

I am sorry to here about your troubles also. It is always tough on a parent when a child always seems to find trouble of one fashion or another.

erb, you never said, does he have children of his own? Is he or has he been married? What else can you tell us about him besides he gets in trouble?
