Cancel Aflac policy: What does an Aflac associate say?

Hi! I'm an Aflac policy holder and I want to quit. Is that an easy thing to do? Can somebody show me how to? Thanks! :)

While insurance laws do vary from state to state, I know of no state laws in any state that force a person to keep their insurance involuntarily. We know insurance contracts as "unilateral" -- that is, only the insurer has made promises that must be fulfilled. You force the insurer to honor its promises by paying premiums, and you allow the insurer to avoid a claim when you fail to pay premiums.
This is not a matter for the agent to handle, it is a matter for your HR department. Go to them and cancel your deduction. When they send the premiums to AFLAC each month, your name and payment will drop off the census, and your coverage will terminate.
If HR refuses to cooperate, then contact your State Department of Insurance to file a complaint.
Yes, get out of AFLAC like I am trying to do. Run. Yeah, the policies are great for people that don't budget and have no emergency plan. Those who are responsible with their money and are not living life paycheck to paycheck with credit card debt don't need this type of coverage. If I had invested the money I have put into AFLAC, minus the Wellness Benefit they pay annually, even in this bad economy, I would have more than doubled that money thus far in a moderate mutual fund. I could be making more off that money at this point than what I put in annually and the amount I would have sitting there for me would now be more than any benefit they would pay me. It is a good investment... for them, a bad investment for me.
If your policy is a pretax policy, such as mine, you do have to wait until open enrollment periods to cancel, but I am going to ask our payroll administrator to verify this with the accountant today.

Your AFLAC policy is not dependent on your employment situation. You can file a claim for anything covered by the policy.

I have had AFLAC coverage for 20 years. I have never had a problem filing any claim! They are very prompt in sending the checks!
