If the company ( Insurance Company ) is having presence/Tie up with any of the company in the new country where the person is re- located. Then it is possible to get the claim of health insurance.

thanks.

Usually not. Your existing health insurance will not cover you if you are traveling abroad for work. So that you do not have trouble visiting a doctor during your stay abroad, you can purchase an international insurance plan mostly offered by multinational insurance companies. However, many of the plans provide coverage for up to six months in another country. For 1 or 2 years time span, you need to specify.

If you have Medicare you will not be covered outside United States of America. However, a supplemental plan will provide $5 coverage on your medical bills. This will suffice only if you have a very short stay. But for a long stay like 1 or 2 years I guess you need other coverage.

Only international health insurance card will do for this... but there are so many multinational companies they have wide presence in different countries.

Suppose one has purchased health policy from lombard and moved to another country then the country partner of the lombard in another country will surely offer you a add on health coverage at some extra cost. One need to book it beforehand only while traveling.

There are some specific insurance policies for those who surf constantly from one country to another then they need to purchase this international health insurance service but it is really advisable for those frequent visitors and it makes a bigger toll on the pocket.

Hi,

Can existing health insurance coverage be moved/transfer to that specific country?

Hope you've got the answer already..still would like to know the reason!
Is there any benefit that comes to your mind apart from not being able to utilize the unexpired coverage term of your existing policy?

Okey..
I have got enough answers. Its always better to choose your insurance company which must have tie up with overseas partner.Medical treatment abroad can be expensive and one never knows when one would need it. So it's always better to choose right one and save money.

Arno, are you talking about travel insurance with a medical component or purely medical insurance with an international focus?
