Well, it's not about the question of just one or two of them.
I've come across the following 2 threads that might add to your knowledge.

Look, if agents get scared and flee over health reform there will be less competition and more money for the ones who stay..that's the truth...

its seems like producers alliance and mark are doing whatever it takes to make sure they always have new products to compete with the changes...you have to roll with the punches and be willing to stand out...
I'm sure producers alliance will make it through health reform....i'm having my best years in my career there...

I'm working on some income streams that are not related to health insurance.

I don't want to be the last farrier in town.

I certainly haven't abandoned health insurance, but we've entered the MA market this AEP and are diversifying the agency by doing more with life and DI.

I'm also working on some websites that are not related to insurance at all.

It is a scary time for agents like me who have focused on health insurance for the last several years.

It's about a 40% haircut, which is pretty hard---however if you can write 5 apps plus per week, you can make it until 2014. By that time you should definitely be not just cross selling but have an entire self sufficient book of business in another line such as LIFE, MEDICARE, P & C....etc.

Who cares... insurance companies knifed us when they got the chance... our cut had nothing (or little) to do with MLR... thats why we as a group must stick the knife right back and dick them, there are ways to do that... overload their csr people, force your clients to call in for anything. treat them like s*** when you call.... and refuse to sell for carrier like BCBS tx and Aetna that pay below current market...

but from the good side most agents are quiting because they cant make it which is great... keep falling boys as i pick cotton like a south alabama slave

I guess agents are already finding it tougher to survive in areas where they aren't comfortable. It will be a ray of hope if we hear from some of us who're actually earning more now. Would certainly love it if you guys come forward and share.
