If a homeowner fails to notify his insurance of a loss or a demand letter from a lawyer would they deny coverage? Do they usually deny because delay notice? Have any adjusters on here ever deny coverage for this reason? When i say delay i mean 8 to 9 months delay.

ABSOLUTELY! Why on earth did you wait this long? Call your carrier NOW, and hope and pray they won't deny the claim, and further request non-renewal...golly, What is the demand, and is it from an attorney or actual suit papers? What happened?

I've never denied coverage and I don't think I've ever heard of coverage being denied for this reason. But it _can_ be done. The insurance company would need to be able to show that there was no reason why the loss information should not have been passed on to the carrier and that they are not covering the portion of the loss that the late reporting created. That is a _huge_ task. But having a default judgement would be a prime example.
