I filed home insurance claim after hurricane hit. I soon realised damages are only little more than deductible. I want to withdraw claim however I was informed it can only be closed. I am not sure why claim cannot be cancelled or be withdrawn.
Please advise what is the best approach to follow in such a case.

I am selling my house and the buyer's inspector said roof needed repair. I called my ins. company and they called for whole roof to be replaced. The buyer wants to close on time so I want to offer a price adj for the $900 repairs on their inspection report and withdraw my ins. claim. an attorney told me i have to close under the terms of the contract and the roofer will take 3 weeks to do the roof.

we filed a claim in 2013 for a new roof and our insurance company cut a check for the roof but no company will take us on because our insurance company wont pay the depreciation of the roof. So we asked if we could just cancel the claim at this point and we would give the check back and they said no. I dont know what to do at this point since no roofing company will even take us on. Please help

We filed a claim on some stolen equipment. The insurance has sent out a SIU investigator to my home and treated me like a low life> I was so mad that I call the insurance company to cancel my claim. But, this guy is still talking to my family. State of Indiana
