Hi,
Is there any insurance to cover my diamond ring? Would it come under the cover of my home owners?

The Inland Marine Policies are not really very expensive….i know that the name might have suggested you that, but its not really so. However, the cost of the coverage may also depend upon the type of coverage you opt for and also upon the worth of the items covered.

The inland marine policy might be available with your insurance agent, hence, checking out with him won't hurt.

Thanks,
Rupert

I am going to check. Thats sure a funny name for a policy "inland Marine". How did they come up with that? I wish I would have known you could have insured jewelry on its own policy before I had my mothers ring stolen a few years back. It wasn't worht turning in to homeowners because of my deductible.

You should be able to get an add-on to your HO policy for your jewelry. Your insurance company will want a current appraisal and pictures.

I can provide them with what they need so that should be pretty easy to do.

remember though usually with adding it to your HO you are not adding any perils...only increasing the limit...on limited perils.

Ok so I should just see about the other policy. I have a lot on my plate at this moment with some family health problems and my own insurance nightmare so with my stree level being at an all time high I will look into this after I get through a couple rough patches here at home. Thanks.
