My home had a pipe burst under the house. Today is the second day and they still can't find leak. The plumbers claimed to use all kinds of equipment to find it, however, 2 holes in the kitchen slab, one in my daughters room and the other in my sons and also the garage and still can't find leak. The insurance claims they don't pay for repairs just replacements. No adjuster from insurance yet.My question is: Does the insurance have a responsibility to us to provide temporary accomodations because I have 4 kids and no running water and no kitchen. At what point do I consider a public adjuster?

You have already repaired the damage right? Prior to talking with an adjuster and getting this information? Oh man, this is gonna be a problem I think...Did you tell the claims rep that it is ALREADY fixed?
I got the impression that the OP had the leak itself repaired, which is not covered under the policy. The resulting water damage, which is covered, has yet to be repaired.OP, you can obtain an estimate from _any_ contractor of your choice... it _does not_ have to be only one that the insurance company recommends.
A company such as Allstate is not going to send an adjuster out on a smaller claim such as this. As far as I know, Allstate does not maintain adjusters in every area so they would need to hire an independent adjuster for something like this.

Ok, I'm with you...I misread it I guess and thought everything had been repaired..Pagination
