What are my responsibilities to the Insurance company if i do have a fire at my home??

If you are going to file a claim.... notify them as soon as possible.

I think your responsibilities would be towards you, i.e. to recover for the losses that you have suffered in the fire. About your duties towards the insurer, make them aware of the loss as immediately as it happens and cooperate with the claim adjuster in every possible way to get the claim settled.
