Hi Anil, since standard homeowners insurance wouldn't cover damages caused by flood, homeowners are required to buy flood insurance separately. Flood insurance though cover the personal belongings would normally exclude coverage to landscape and outdoor items.

Here is the list of excluded items under the flood insurance,

  • Flood insurance wouldn't cover loss of cash, jewellery and certificates/testimonials.

  • Damages caused by mold or moisture. The policy holder is responsible for taking care of issues arising after the flood water is removed from the property.

  • No coverage is available for landscape and outdoor properties like- swimming pool, trees, patios and the like (as Jeorge has mentioned already)

  • Losses suffered by business and additional living expenses are also not covered under the flood insurance.
