home insurance coverage comparison

I've heard that home insurance coverage would vary if we're renting a home

instead of owning it. How does it differ when we own a condominium?

Does it mean that these policies don't cover similar items?

Yes, you can schedule personal property on Homeowners, Renters and Condo insurance policies.

If you are renting out the condo, you'd only need cover for damage to the property, fixutres and fittings rather than personal contents wouldn't you? As you aren't living there you won't have any interest in the personal posessions of the occupiers?

Hi heidrek, I guess the worth of personal contents would be separately evaluated while they get listed with one's condo carrier. Am I right? If it's like that, I believe the condo owner would need to pay lesser premiums since he won't need to cover personal possessions of the tenants.
