Are there property damage liability deductibles?

If someone hit our mailbox will there be a deductible on their insurance policy to replace the mailbox (brick structure)

If you file it under your HO property damage, then yes - you will pay the deductible.

Any chance you have a confession from the person who did it? If so, you can file it under his auto policy.

And you won't pay a deductible.

No there will not it will be paid under the liability section ''Property damage" coverage, no deductible.

If the other party has accepted the liability then his insurance company would take the responsibility to repair the damage. And deductibles, normally do not apply to the liability coverage.

However, if you have decided to turn the claim to your homeowner insurer then you may have to make the out-of-pocket expense as stated in the policy document.

I agree with Lori. When my hubby hit my brothers truck with his yard tractor we did not have to pay the deduct because it fell under the propery damage part of our policy.
