I have home insurance but now some people are telling me about a home warranty insurance. Can you tell me more about it?

Home warranty insurance covers stuff 'breaking' not from perils like your HO policy does...as an example..your ice box stops running because it's 100 years old..an HO policy will never cover this (unless it quits due to a peril like lightening ran in on it) a home warranty presumeably would.

Some times, you'll find home warranty coverage from real estate agents. It could be a gift to you upon closing.

I guess it would depend on your state norms whether or not your home warranty should be paid by the seller. In some places, the buyer has to pay for the home warranty coverage.

The home warranty coverage is not too expensive. Home warranty companies would also provide you with some benefits e.g. policies with discounted prices, additional coverage benefits for a fixed price etc.

Yes, you may get covered under a real estate agent. If you have your coverage through a real estate agent, it will help in the event your claim gets denied. You may always consult with him and file a complaint in the event your claim gets denied.

Not in California. No such thing as "free insurance" -- it's a misdemeanor crime. Probably true in many other states as well.

Never knew a real estate agent with that kind of power. Even we "regular" insurance agents generally don't have that ability, although some of us would not be afraid to try. But a real estate agent? I don't think so.
