I hear the term "reserves" and I automatically think of insurance claim reserves and the requirements associated in that area.

?????????

Are you saying that Lakemen/and the site are "broke?"

Haa!

Actually I was thinking about something that happened a few years ago to a local insurance company to the city I was in when I called to inquire about a product they had that looked good for a potential FE sale.

The first person I spoke to simply stated that they weren't appointing any new agents and where not issuing any more of this particular product.

My GA at the time was appointed with them and made a call to someone he knew to get the low-down. He found out the product in question was released only about a year ago and was wildly more popular than they ever imagined. Popular to the point that the liabilities they were taking on were beginning to stress current reserve, so they bascially closed down shop until they collected enough premium and/or had enough lapses to get everything back in order.

False: The new Health Choices Commissioner will oversee a vaierty of choices to be offered through new insurance exchanges. The bill itself specifies the minimum services to be covered in a basic plan, including prescription drugs, mental health services, maternity and well-baby care and certain vaccines and preventive services (pages 27-28). We find nothing in the bill that prevents insurance companies from offering benefits that exceed the minimums. In fact, the legislation allows (page 84) any company that offers an approved basic plan to offer also an enhanced plan, a premium plan and even a premium plus plan that could include vision and dental benefits.
