Some of the challenges which all agents face! Challenge-1

Working in competitive world of insurance brings many challenges to the life of an Insurance Agent. I am keen to how that how you (in case you are working as an Insurance agent (or marketing professional) handle them. I will take them one by one to ensure that all members can respond taking one at a time.

First challenge which I observed is that prospects often Use Agent as an unpaid consultant: This normally happens when an agents tries to get a new client on his books. In such cases the client tries to get all free consultations for his requirements, gets competitive quotes as well, and ultimately bargains with his current insurance company and agent for renewal of his cover. Finally when things are over, he will not even return the phone calls.

Although above situation is part and parcel of an agent's life, but it will be great if members here can make suggestions on how the above challenge can be turned into opportunity.

Hi Steven,

Thanks for sharing link with me. It definitely covers many challenges which agents face in their career.

However, you willl appreciate that challenge mentioned by me in my post referred to a specific case, regarding use of agent as a free consultant. though, I have done it on on a number of occassions, and in some of the cases I could get a substantial premium from those accounts, as client could realize that this guy understands his business.

It will be great if you can suggest some better ways of handling this kind of situations.

Regards
