Does anyone know anything about this company? I've been to a few interviews with different branches of Universal American.
There are three major cities in my area and I have interviewed at Universal American offices in each one. Each office seems to be privately owned and operated. I could be wrong, but it seems like Universal American sells the leads to the local offices and they provide leads to their agents. All of the different independent agencies SEEM to be indentical in what products they offer, the training they provide, and the commission they pay (and their recruiting practices).
Anyways, I'd love to know if you know anything about how this works. I'm contemplating going to work for one of the agencies. He showed me their sales report and his agent's average salaries. The worst agent on the report made $41,000 last year, with most being about $50,000 and the top tier being well over $100K. I also asked about the turnover and he told me that his retention rate is 83%, whereas the industry average is 25-30%.
I'm new to the insurance industry, but I'm eager and willing to work long and hard. I'd love to know more about UA, because I'm sure I'm not getting all the info from the recruiters. I tried searching Google and couldn't find anything there either. Google is how I found out the truth about American Income Life and knew not to take that position (thank goodness!).
Thanks for any info you can provide!

Hi,
Yes, I'm wondering too about UA. I have 6 years experience in selling all types of insurance and I'm supposed to interview at the Columbia, MD office tomorrow. Did you find out anything more about UA? Please let me know. Thanks!

Probably I could try for more info if I was aware of the cities that they operate in. See, if you could name a couple of them.
