Several years ago I was offered a position selling insurance over the phone without company appointments / contracts. Further, the company was in CA, and I could work from my remote location in AZ, answering their leads and selling over the phone. Instead of commissions, I was offered a salary. Does this type of company exist today that anyone knows of?

If you were doing what you just wrote, you were transacting insurance in violation of the CA Insurance Code. It doesn't matter how you were paid, what you were doing is a crime. Transacting insurance in CA without a license is a misdemeanor punishable by a $25,000 fine and/or up to one year in county jail.

Feel free to turn yourself in and beg the court for forgiveness. A conviction for any insurance misdemeanor prevents your license application from being accepted by the insurance commissioner.

Whoever you are- you are rude and disgusting. I have 11 licenses, non-resident licensing wherever I need, and have managed Managers all over the country. Further, I was looking for this type of company, and if I was working for that company now, I wouldn't have asked if it existed today- moron!
