There is no minimum "education" or "experience" requirement to become a licensed insurance producer. Depending on your state of residence, there may be a prelicensing education requirement -- such as 32 or 52 hours in CA depending on the license type, 20-40 hours or more in other states, 0 hours in a couple. You will also be required to pass a written exam, and FBI and state criminal background checks.

You can easily become an insurance agent with a little effort on your part, but finding a job (or creating your own) will not be as easy without a high school diploma.

Pure BS! While you may find it difficult to get hired into a corporate culture such as NYLife or State Farm or Farmers, there are plenty of opportunities in this industry that could care less about your high school or college education.

There are plenty of college graduates with MBAs today who are working at McDonalds or for similar employers because they can't find a position based on their education and think working in the insurance/financial services industry as a sales agent is beneath them.

That leaves all those openings to be filled by folks with no specific education, training, or experience.

Your success is dependent only on your ability to learn about the products you will be marketing and following directions. As a commission sales agent, your income is not related at all to a high school diploma, college degree, or "who you know that can get you in".

If you look around, you will find the opportunities. You can email me for some suggestions.
