How to recruit good licensed insurance agents?

I’ve just joined a new insurance firm as a recruiter and as per my job profile I need to recruit good and experienced insurance agents. I really love the work but really running out of ideas as how to find and recruit licensed insurance agents.

Any ideas as on how to reach out to more and more talented people? I organized a job fair here in downtown Berkeley last week. It was good enough and found some great resources. I’d definitely do such things in future. Any other ideas on how to get more agents?

Most experienced agents do not want to "work" for a particular company. My days as a captive agent are over, too.

If you are recruiting for an agency, that's different, but most agents still prefer autonomy to having to report to an office every day. So to recruit an "experienced" agent, there has to be a pretty good incentive.

Most of the solicitations of employment I get want my book of business more than they want me, and I don't like that.

How do you reach out? No easy answer to that. But the sites such as Monster.com and Careerbuilder.com are places to try.

And you can post here on the Insurance Agents forum as well.

Hi, my name is Mia and I'm an independent agent at Liveops. We are currently in need of insurance agents who would like the opportunity to work at home. Rates are very good, you can even make $30/hour.
From personal experience, It's very convenient for me to be able to work at home. I am a full time student at The University of Texas at San Antonio and work part-time with Liveops. I get to stay home with my friends & family compared to when I was working as an overnight nanny for 13 hours 4-5x a week. And who doesn't like making money and not have to wake up to drive somewhere? It's phenomenal. For more information, please email me at perezmia91@yahoo.com
Thank you!
Mia

The last time I was a captive agent, I had a serious problem with the way they conducted business and they fired me.

Posted: Tue Jan 05, 2016 06:04 am Post Subject: Mortgage Protection Insurance Agent Job Opening

Introduction:
This is an in-home sales position that has an incredible commission structure. We have a streamlined lead generation system so there is no cold calling involved. Only those who have requested the information will be contacted. The system puts you in front of qualified buyers who have a need for the product. This sales system has revolutionized the insurance industry and is what allows our full time agents to make over $150+K in the very first year regardless of experience.

Job Description:
I am looking for an independent agent who will take these leads, call our clients, set an appointment, and sit down with them at their home and help them pick out the best mortgage protection plan that fits their budget. Our full-time agents will sit with 10 to 15 families per week. Some of our agents start on a part-time basis and gradually move to full-time.

Commissions:
Typically, commission on a mortgage protection product is about $600 per family you protect. Our average agent will sell 5 to 10 mortgage protection plans a week. In addition to mortgage protection, the main focus of my team is to use a selection of premium financial products to help people save for retirement or protect their current retirement accounts (e.g., 401k's and IRA's) from losing money in the market. These products have very high commissions and can double your income. We have extensive training on how these products work and how to sell them.

Training:
• Online Study Course for State Life Insurance Exam.
• Product Lines, Sales Techniques, and Personal Development.
• Client-based strategies before you go into an appointment.
• Support during in-home presentations.
• Debriefing and coaching session after appointments.
• Regional and National Conferences.

Licensure:
You will need to obtain a life insurance license if you don't already have one. We will help you through the process as needed.

Next Step:
Please call Frances Kaplan, MPH at 602-527-1511 to schedule a telephone. We look forward to hearing from you. Kindly leave a voice message if no one answers since we may be conducting interviews with other candidates when you call. Thank you for your interest.
