I just joined today and haven't found the "search" function yet so if this has been discussed, ...never mind.
I'm thinking this site could provide some good networking opportunities. Has there been a post that shows where each member is located?
If someone comes to me with a need for a product I don't have (even if they are in a different state...or their family member, friend) - I could easily refer them to someone on the board.

Hey Life is Good
Welcome to the forum - I have enjoyed it here so far.
You can tell where someone is from if they have updated the location portion of their profile. But that doesn't really accomplish what you want does it?
I suppose if something like that comes up you - or any other member - could post it here. For example - if someone contacted me from New York State I could post that here and invite other board members to pm me.
Maybe there is a better way to do it?
it's a good idea.

Thanks Ontario! I like the posting and then a pm idea. Maybe one specific "Networking" forum so they posts aren't spread around?

A networking forum would accomplish what you are looking for

This is an interesting enquiry.
This also leads us to another prospecting approach that not many people adopt. It is known as tip club where the club members are from different industries and businesses.
The members meet on regular basis to discuss business concerns and exchange clientele. The closing ratio of customers introduced by club members tend to be higher. This is because the club members normally do some introduction and recommendation before the appointment takes place

I am part of a local tip club and it really helps me find new business. If anyone is interested in learning more about tip clubs as a networking tool I would be glad to write about my experiences.

Ontario - we have two main referral "clubs" here: BNI (Business Networking International) and BRN (Business Referral Network). They have both worked well for me, but again, that is for local customers.
I was talking more about a AMPM Networking type venture. Where if a customer you know is moving to...for example..Tennessee and is looking for insurance you are unable to sell to them, you would refer me. Or a customer of mine says their brother/sister (whoever lives in _______ and is looking for ______ insurance. I could check this site and find someone to refer them to.
There could be a list of who is in what location and what they specialize in so each one of us could access it when needed.

They company I work for will only run the MVR once. So there is a cahnce you will not see an increase. We do state in the policy that we can run the MVR at any time but the only time I have ever seen them run it again is if you have multi accident's or your account gets red flagged or if it lapses and you try to reinstate the policy. Ever company will have different procedures so I cant promise it wont go up but if they do run the MVR then you can expect a 10%-30%increase.Good Luck!
