Hi, I have been a licensed agent for 7 years. I am good at what I do. I have recently left the agency that I was working at. Since then I have been forced to do it on my own. I have ran ads in the paper and tried to market myself on line. the problem is... cash. Is there an inexpensive way of getting leads? I have tried Net Quote and many others. Any ideas???

A good way to market your business is by joining local community groups and networking groups. You wil be killing two birds with one stone by building a relationship with people in your community and meeting successful people who know other successful people who will send you referrals. Most groups don't charge a fee to join or attend.
Also you may want to consider doing some volunteer work.

Read one book and you'll learn all you need to.
The Referral of a Lifetime
It is excellent! It will be slow at first, but with diligence and compassion for others, you'll be just fine.
Best of luck!

I would you suggest you to use free classifieds like Craigslist and similar portals to post your advertisements in geographical areas of your interest. You should also get yourself registered on every local business diectory you can think about.
In addition to above you may Local SEO services from some professionals in your area. The advantages with the local SEO is that, it do not require a website (if you have it will be great).
Besides this use of online and offline networking, various forums, email marketing and direct calling can also help a lot.
In case you are working all by yourself, then please consider some one to help you in your business promotion for all the above activities. Even provide above services. So in case you are comfortable, you can ask us too.

Aryan
